Israel is Ruled from Pagan Rome
Under Roman rule, the Sanhedrin moved to Tiberias, the Talmud began taking shape, and ties with Babylonia deepened.
The generation that came after Rabbi Yehuda HaNassi moved the Sanhedrin to Tiberias. It became the administrative center for the Jews in Israel and the spiritual center for those in the Diaspora. Ongoing Halachic deliberations served as the basis of the writing of the Talmud.
Ties with the Jewish communities in Babylonia strengthened and numerous emissaries were sent there to pass on the teachings of the sages in Israel.
