Jewish Artifacts 4th Century
Many artifacts attesting to a significant Jewish presence in the land during the 4th Century have been found, the majority of which showcase the menorah, a prominent and enduring Jewish symbol.
A rare1,700-year-old ceramic oil lamp was found in an archaeological dig near the Mount of Olives. The find is particularly surprising, since there are only a few material traces of a Jewish presence around Jerusalem in the 3rd - 5th centuries CE as Jews were mostly denied access to Jerusalem.
